I Pooped.

I Pooped.

Hi Mom.

Well it didn’t cool off much this evening but I did get in a walk and a poop. The lady was so excited about my poop, that I'm not sure that she’s ever seen one before. She told me over and over what a good boy I am! Honestly though, even if she did sound a little nuts, I didn't mind playing along for praise and treats.

I know you were concerned about me not eating, while you're away. However, you need not worry, as the Lady ( inadvertently) solved that problem.  Earlier this evening, the lady went into the kitchen and I heard her get my bowl and food. I waited on the kitchen floor, watching her as she took forever to open my bag of food. ( I know! Right?) For a few desperate minutes, it was touch and go. When she finally got the situation in hand, I had worked up such an appetite pacing and waiting, that I ate almost all of it.

I miss you. 😘 But I think this lady really likes me, so I should probably keep her company for the next couple of days.

Love,

Buddy 3 "You would be so proud of me!"

"You would be so proud of me!"

Hi Mom!

You would be so proud of me! Last night I finally got the nerve to jump on the couch. Ok, I did wait until the lady was in the shower, but it still counts, RIGHT? 😳

I think the lady is getting attached to me, so I was kind enough to sleep behind her legs last night. πŸ˜‡

As soon as I woke up I crawled onto her chest and laid there while she pet me behind the ears. She wasn't fully awake, but don’t worry. When she nodded off, I crawled closer and licked her face. She caught on pretty fast, because I got nonstop petting after that.

After about 20 minutes,  we got up to go on my first walk of the day.  I explored some more and found my favorite trees. I also did another poop. She still praised me, but I could tell she was less impressed this time. I guess if you’ve seen one you’ve seen them all.

I am making myself at home, but I miss you Mom. ❤️

Love,
Buddy 🐾

Buddy (My Buddy!) Part 1

Lady's Note: Buddy's mom rescued him from a puppy mill ten years ago. This amazing women took a shell of a dog, and loved and trained him into an awesome pup! He is a 12 year old male Boston Terrier who loves to sniff! When he and his mom came to my home for a meet and greet, he spent most of his time, with his nose to the floor. However, from his first day with me, as he sniffed less and snuggled more, we quickly became buddies! He is a sweet, affectionate boy and I can't wait to see again!

Buddy's 1rst Letter:

Dear Mom,

The lady took me for a walk this morning and made me heel and sit.  I did get treats, but Wicked Bossy, right? At least now she knows I'm smart. My favorite part was when she loosened the leash and let me explore. What a sniff-fest I had! I even introduced myself to a couple of trees!

We made one loop around the driveway, before I stuck my tongue out at her to show her that I was getting hot. She brought me inside pronto, and I drank from a bowl of water on the floor.

I found it right away, which must mean I know my way around here already. Of course that’s not surprising, as I’ve sniffed every inch of her floor. Which, I must say, was a big disappointment, as I found precious little. 😳 On the bright side, I don’t think she’ll have to vacuum anytime soon.

Love,

The Lady's Camp

Eighteen months into the pandemic, I realized that I needed to either shake things up or become the crazy lady who wanders around the neighborhood in her bathrobe, shouting about politicians, pundits, and pea-brains. Redundant as that may be.

The outlook was bleak.

And just as my TV and Fridge were becoming my new best friends; just as I planned to kick off Wine O'clock too close to lunch. Before all was lost. A miracle!

DOGS!

Beautiful, innocent, affectionate, unconditionally loving, loyal, living in the moment, playful dogs!
My daughter, the miracle worker, knowing my love for them, suggested that I become a dog sitter.

Thus began, ‘The Lady’s Camp’.

The pups watch me intently as they absorb my energy. From the outset, my objective is their calm submission. "I got you”, I tell them.

As I told one pup's mom, there is a palpably positive energy shift in my home when they are here.

As I walk them and feed them, they begin to trust me. By the time we play and snuggle, they are content, and I am already in love.

I give them food, water, walks, attention, and love, and in return, they give me everything. They save me. Every one of them! They bring love, peace, and play into my home. Some bring magic!

I am honored by the trust bestowed upon me by their parents. These, after all, are their babies. And whether they leave them for a weekend or a week, the parents worry and miss them. Hoping to assuage their concerns, I send photos, videos, and updates. It helps a little.

Then, an idea. What if they could hear directly from their fur baby? Wouldn't that make them feel better? What if their pup could write a letter that not only tells of their adventures, but also assures mom and dad that they feel safe and loved?

With the help of
The Magic Puppy's Pen, they can do exactly that!

So, this, my friends, is where my story ends and theirs beginsWhat follows are a few of the pup's favorite letters from camp.   πŸΎ

Stay tuned!
