The Lady's Camp

Eighteen months into the pandemic, I realized that I needed to either shake things up or become the crazy lady who wanders around the neighborhood in her bathrobe, shouting about politicians, pundits, and pea-brains. Redundant as that may be.

The outlook was bleak.

And just as my TV and Fridge were becoming my new best friends; just as I planned to kick off Wine O'clock too close to lunch. Before all was lost. A miracle!

DOGS!

Beautiful, innocent, affectionate, unconditionally loving, loyal, living in the moment, playful dogs!
My daughter, the miracle worker, knowing my love for them, suggested that I become a dog sitter.

Thus began, ‘The Lady’s Camp’.

The pups watch me intently as they absorb my energy. From the outset, my objective is their calm submission. "I got you”, I tell them.

As I told one pup's mom, there is a palpably positive energy shift in my home when they are here.

As I walk them and feed them, they begin to trust me. By the time we play and snuggle, they are content, and I am already in love.

I give them food, water, walks, attention, and love, and in return, they give me everything. They save me. Every one of them! They bring love, peace, and play into my home. Some bring magic!

I am honored by the trust bestowed upon me by their parents. These, after all, are their babies. And whether they leave them for a weekend or a week, the parents worry and miss them. Hoping to assuage their concerns, I send photos, videos, and updates. It helps a little.

Then, an idea. What if they could hear directly from their fur baby? Wouldn't that make them feel better? What if their pup could write a letter that not only tells of their adventures, but also assures mom and dad that they feel safe and loved?

With the help of
The Magic Puppy's Pen, they can do exactly that!

So, this, my friends, is where my story ends and theirs beginsWhat follows are a few of the pup's favorite letters from camp.   🐾

Stay tuned!
